BREAKING NEWS: Kano Hisbah Arrests Five Youths Over Alleged Illegal Marriage Without Parental Consent

The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest of five young individuals for allegedly organizing and participating in an illegal marriage ceremony without the consent of the parents involved.

According to reports, the incident occurred in one of the city’s suburbs where the group was said to have arranged a “secret wedding” between two lovers without formal approval from their families or adherence to Islamic marital procedures.

Hisbah officials, acting on a tip-off from community members, stormed the venue and apprehended the suspects. The Board’s spokesperson stated that such actions violate Islamic teachings and the state’s moral code, emphasizing that marriage must be conducted with proper guardianship and documentation.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be handed over to relevant authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The Hisbah Board reiterated its commitment to upholding moral standards and protecting Islamic values across Kano State.
