Abuja, Nov. 11, 2025 — A dramatic standoff unfolded in Abuja earlier today as a Nigerian Navy officer, Lieutenant A.M. Yerima, prevented the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, from gaining full access to a disputed piece of land reportedly controlled by the Navy in Gaduwa.

The confrontation, which was caught on camera and has since gone viral, shows Yerima firmly denying entry to Wike’s convoy despite mounting pressure and verbal insults from the Minister’s entourage.

In the footage, Wike can be heard calling the officer a “big fool,” to which Yerima confidently responded, “I am an officer, I have integrity. You can’t call me a fool, sir.”

The situation escalated briefly when Wike reportedly contacted the Chief of Defence Staff to intervene. However, Yerima’s calm and composed demeanor throughout the exchange has earned him widespread praise on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where many Nigerians have hailed him as a symbol of discipline, professionalism, and courage in the face of political intimidation.
