Three brilliant Nigerian innovators from top universities — including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Northeastern University — have built a fast-rising U.S.-based startup that’s taking the tech world by storm. Their app, called Sorce, has been nicknamed the “Tinder for Jobs” due to its simple swipe-based design and use of artificial intelligence to automate job applications.
With Sorce, users can upload their résumé once, and the platform instantly recommends job openings that match their profile. If a user swipes right on a job, an AI agent automatically applies on their behalf directly through the company’s website — filling out forms, attaching documents, and even writing cover letters.
The founding team — Daniel Ajayi (MIT), David Alade (Northeastern University), and Oluwapelumi Dada — created the app to help job seekers save time and overcome the frustration of repetitive application processes. Their mission is to make the global job search smarter, faster, and more accessible through automation.
The idea quickly gained international attention and earned the startup a place in Y Combinator’s Fall 2025 batch, a prestigious Silicon Valley accelerator known for backing global tech giants like Airbnb, Stripe, and Dropbox.
Since its launch, Sorce has gone viral among young professionals and graduates across the United States, with thousands signing up to test the platform’s AI-powered “job-swiping” experience.
Industry analysts say the startup could reshape online recruitment by merging artificial intelligence with human intuition — the same way Tinder revolutionized online dating.
As one of the founders, Daniel Ajayi, put it:
“We wanted to remove the stress from job hunting. Sorce does the work for you — it’s like having an AI career assistant that never sleeps.”
With its strong reception, global potential, and all-Nigerian founding team, Sorce is yet another example of young African talent transforming global tech innovation from the heart of Silicon Valley.
