The Lagos State Government has announced that essential repair works will begin on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road from the night of September 15 through to the night of September 21, 2025. The repairs, which will occur during nighttime hours to minimize disruption to daytime traffic, are part of the state’s ongoing infrastructure maintenance efforts.
The project will involve resurfacing damaged sections of the road, fixing potholes, ensuring proper drainage, and improving road markings to enhance safety and ride quality. Motorists, commuters, and residents along Victoria Island and Lekki are advised to plan their journeys accordingly as sections of the road may be partially closed during these night sessions.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Works is expected to put in place traffic control measures and diversions to ease the impact of the repair works. Drivers should expect delays in the evenings and early mornings, and are encouraged to seek alternate routes, avoid non-essential travel along affected stretches during repair hours, and remain alert to lane closures and work crews.
The government regrets any inconveniences caused and reassures the public that measures will be taken to ensure that once the works are completed, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road will provide safer and smoother passage for all users.
