HEADLINE: JUST IN: Two Nigerians Shot Dead by Unknown Gunmen in Durban, South Africa

Tragedy has struck the Nigerian community in South Africa once again, as two Nigerians, identified simply as Austin and Ayo, have been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Durban.

According to preliminary reports, the fatal attack occurred late Monday night in one of Durban’s suburbs, sparking fears and outrage among locals and the Nigerian diaspora. Eyewitnesses say the victims were ambushed and shot multiple times before the assailants fled the scene.

While the motive behind the killings remains unclear, South African police authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made so far.

The Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) has condemned the killings and is calling on local authorities to act swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice. They also urged the Nigerian government to intensify diplomatic efforts to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad.

This latest incident adds to growing concerns over the safety of Nigerians living in South Africa, many of whom have frequently reported being targets of violence, xenophobia, and criminal attacks.

The families of the deceased have been notified, and arrangements are being made to transport their remains back to Nigeria. Further details are expected as the investigation unfolds.
